I see the cross and Christmas
I see Calvary in the cradle
And I see the crown
When the wise men bow down
And the shepherds heard the angels sing
Glory to God in the highest
Peace on earth, goodwill to all men
So I bow my head in reverence
I bow my heart in His presence
And I bow my life to the baby Christ
And join with angels to sing
Glory to God in the highest
Peace on earth, goodwill to all men
Worship, Praise Him
Come and adore Him bow down before Him
Worship, Praise Him
Let all the redeemed sing to the King
Glory to God in the highest
Peace on earth, goodwill to all men

6 PM, mid-December
I’m not as excited as I remember
‘Cause there’s no snow, it’s not even cold
But I hear them coming to my door, singing,
“Silent night, Holy night, all is calm, all is bright,”
And I wonder why they sing of the past things
“So what about that night? Yes, a baby was born
But after all this time, what does it mean anymore?
‘Cause I’m just fine, honestly, if the lights and the tree
Are all that Christmas means
So what about that night makes you sing?
9 AM, late December
The church bells ring around the corner
I walk outside and as I pass by
I hear the people join the choir, singing,
“Silent night, Holy night, shepherds quake at the sight,”
And still I wonder why they sing so joyfully
So what about that night? Yes, a baby was born
But what about his life has given joy to the world?
It may be just make-believe, or perhaps all those things are not what Christmas means
So what about that night makes them sing?
I saw a preacher out on the street
And I thought I’d ask him to kindly explain this to me
“Why after two-thousand years we still sing
Of that baby who was born
Can ya tell me if there’s more
‘Cause I’ve been wondering what Christmas really means”
Then he said, “On that holy night, to us a Savior was born
The One named Jesus Christ
Showed His great love for the world
You see He paid for our sin
When they crucified him
Then He died but now He lives!
So what about tonight?
Will you trust in Him?
Christmas Day, this December
Things have changed since last winter
There’s still no snow, but now I know
Why we sing

O how blessed that wondrous birthday,
when the maid the curse retrieved
Brought to birth mankind's salvation
By the Holy Ghost conceived
The sacred Son, Redeemer of the world
Her arms received
He assumed this mortal body,
frail and feeble, doomed to die,
That the race from dust created might not perish in the night,
Which the Law of God condemned us all in the depths of Hell to lie.
Lo, He comes, the promised savior
Let the world His praises cry!
Lo, He comes, the promised savior
Let God's people gather nigh!
Sing, ye heights of heaven, His praises; men and angels join to sing!
Wherever be ye faithful, let your joyous anthems ring,
Every tongue his name in chorus raise, creation answering.
Lo, He comes, the promised savior
Let the world His praises cry!
Lo, He comes, the promised savior
Let God's people gather nigh!
Ah! how wondrous was the fountain flowing from His piercèd side,
When the blood and water mingled in a strange and sacred tide,--
Water, sign of cleansing divine; and blood, the martyr's pride.
In that hour the ancient Serpent saw the holy Victim slain,
Saw, and shed his hated venom, all his malice spent in vain;
See! the hissing neck is broken as he writhes in sullen pain.
Lo, He comes, the conquering savior
Let the world His praises cry!
Lo, He comes, the conquering savior
Let God's people gather nigh!
Then mankind to life restoring, death downtrodden 'neath His feet
Lo the Victor mounts triumphant to the Father's judgement seat
Bringing back to hevn' His glory His passion made complete

What Child is this, who, laid to rest on Mary’s lap is sleeping
Whom angels greet with anthems sweet while shepherds watch are keeping
This, this is Christ the King whom shepherds guard and angels sing
Haste, haste to bring Him laud the babe, the son of Mary
Why lies He in such mean estate where ox and lamb are feeding
Good Christian fear for sinners here the silent Word is pleading
Raise, raise the song on high the virgin sings her lullaby
Joy, joy for Christ is born the Babe, the Son of Mary
So bring Him incense, gold and myrrh come peasant, king to own Him
The King of kings salvation brings let loving hearts enthrone Him
Nails, spear shall pierce Him through the cross be borne for me, for you
Hail, hail the Word made flesh the babe, the son of Mary

O little town of Bethlehem, from you shall come the Son
The promised child of Abraham, the long awaited One
Emmanuel, He is our answered prayer, O the Lord has come!
Hark, how the herald angels sing, "All glory to the King
And peace on earth to every man with whom our God is pleased
Emmanuel, Incarnate Deity, O the Lord has come
For unto us a Child is born and unto us a Son is given
He will be called wonderful, our Counselor, Almighty God
Joy to the world, the Lord is come, the saints have been redeemed
Our sins washed white, our hearts made whole, our joy and hope complete
Emmanuel, the reason that we sing, O the Lord has come
For unto us a Child is born and unto us a Son is given
(Rose of Sharon, son of David, Prophesied deliverer)
He will be called wonderful, our Counselor, Almighty God
(Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Lamb of God, Redeemer friend)
For unto us a Child is born and unto us a Son is given
(God so loved the world he made, He gave His only beloved son)
(Rose of Sharon, son of David, Prophesied deliverer)
He will be called wonderful, our Counselor, Almighty God
(Whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have life)
(Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Lamb of God, Redeemer friend)
Holy, holy is the Lord, God Almighty is the Lord
He who was and is to come, was and is and is to come
Holy, holy is the Lord, God Almighty is the Lord
He who was and is to come, was and is and is to come
Come Was and is and is to come, was and is and is to come
For unto us a Child is born and unto us a Son is given
(Unending Jo - y Never ceasing Jo - y)
(God so loved the world he made, He gave His only beloved son)
(Rose of Sharon, son of David, Prophesied deliverer)
He will be called wonderful, our Counselor, Almighty God
(Eternal Jo - y Incredible Jo - y)
(Whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have life)
(Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Lamb of God, Redeemer friend)
For unto us a Child is born and unto us a Son is given
(Of His Kingdom and reign that is without end, of His love and mercy poured over us)
(Of His Name and its power to bring dead things to life, of His army of light reaching into the dark)
(God so loved the world he made, He gave His only beloved son)
(Rose of Sharon, son of David, Prophesied deliverer)
He will be called wonderful, our Counselor, Almighty God
(Of His nature to lead all sufficiently, of His manner to speak truth into our hearts)
(Of His faithfulness, of His gentleness lovingkindness all through His heart of Joy)
(Whosoever believes in Him will not perish but have life)
(Lion of the Tribe of Judah, Lamb of God, Redeemer friend)

Oh glorious day, when a a stable turned a temple
Held in its hay, Emmanuel
The Seed who would crush the serpent’s head
Now sleeps in the straw of Bethlehem
Oh glorious song, from the host of heaven calling
Proclaiming peace, goodwill towards men
For the brightest Star of Abraham
Descends to bless all the sons of men
Son of Abraham, bring your blessing
To all the nations of the earth
Oh God Who transforms this stable to a temple
Come, free us from the curse
Oh glorious light, dispelling the darkness
The Word of God in human form
Heir to David’s throne eternal
The King of Kings to us is born
Son of David, bring Your kingdom
Here on earth as is above
Oh Prince of Peace in this stable turned a temple
Come change us with your love
Oh glorious Son, begotten of the Father
Hallelujahs fill the vaulted skies
Oh praise, praise the name of the God who saves
Our King, our God, our sacrifice
Oh Jesus, oh Jesus, Son of God now Son of Man
Love that descends to a stable turned a temple
Sleep in the straw of Bethlehem

I can hear people singing, of joy to the world all round
And of a midnight clear on that first Noel
Away in a manger on the outskirts of town
Of a star in the east on a silent night
Of shepherds in hope and fear
But there’s more to Me than just My birthday
I’m here everyday of the year
The people who see Me as a baby, they don’t know what to do with the Man
Oh they sing all the carols, they wrap all the presents
But they don’t care to mention the scars in My hands
I came to this place at my Father’s word
To bring more than holiday cheer
I’m not just a child, I’m the Savior
And I’m here everyday of the year
Every day of the year wise men seek me
And I seek out and save
Everyday of the year, arms wide open
The greatest gift that Heaven gave
So deck the halls and hang up the holly
I don’t mind the good times at all
Just remember the reason for the love in the season
I came to rescue your souls from the Fall
And the cradle, the cross and the empty tomb
They all come together here
There’s more to me than just My birthday
I’m not just a Child, I’m the Savior
I came to this world for the Rescue
And I’m here everyday of the year

Away in a manger, no crib for a bed
The little Lord Jesus laid down His sweet head
The stars in the sky looked down where he lay
The little Lord Jesus, asleep on the hay
The cattle are lowing the baby awakes
The dawn of salvation beginning to break
I love thee Lord Jesus, O gift from above
The King of the heavens forever with us
I worship you Lord Jesus for all of my days
The highest of praises be unto Your Name
My God and my Savior My King and my friend
Yours is the glory forever Amen
Yours is the glory forever Amen

Come and stand amazed, you people,
see how God is reconciled!
See his plans of love accomplished,
see his gift, this newborn child.
See the Mighty, weak and tender,
see the Word who now is mute.
See the Sovereign without splendor,
see the Fullness destitute;
the Beloved, whom we covet,
in a state of low repute.
See how humankind received him;
see him wrapped in swaddling bands,
who as Lord of all creation
rules the wind by his commands.
See him lying in a manger
without sign of reasoning;
Word of God to flesh surrendered,
he is wisdom’s crown, our King.
See how tender our Defender
at whose birth the angels sing.
Gloria. Gloria
Glory to God in the highest
And on earth peace to men
O Lord Jesus, God incarnate,
who assumed this humble form,
counsel me and let my wishes
to your perfect will conform.
Light of life, dispel my darkness,
let your frailty strengthen me;
let your meekness give me boldness,
let your burden set me free;
let your sadness give me gladness,
let your death be life for me.
